“ The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. Our server asked if we would like recommendations, when we said yes she spent time to explain popular dishes. The apps were delicious, we got the harissa Brussels sprouts and the pave potatoes. The Brussels sprouts were literally the best I've ever had! All four of us got different entrees and all were delicious. Then came dessert.... The basque cheesecake was good, BUT the sticky toffee carrot cake was amazing!!!! In all honesty I got back and just order the Brussels sprouts and carrot cake and be a happy man! ”

“ My first time going to this cute restaurant that feels like a cozy home with beautiful ambience, paintings and chandeliers all around. The menu is limited, but i genuinely enjoyed every dish we got! The drinks were beautifully made as well. Really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, would pre warn that the funeral potatoes are only a few bites for one person. I also loved the dishware they use. Would definitely recommend the hanger steak, its better than most steakhouses ive tried in utah. Also the risotto pasta was amazing. Would come back for a special occasion given the hefty prices but the food is worth trying at least once if you can afford to splurge a bit. ”

“ The food was fantastic! No complaints on flavor and presentation. We were seated right away and the water and focaccia came Out fast! It was beautiful inside and the wait staff was extremely polite and sweet. I didn't like that I was cold inside (for me...) and I wasn't offered any refills on my soft drink. It came in a can so I'm not sure if that's why bc they DONT offer refills (not sure.) we waited about 30minuted for our meal. But it was definitely worth the wait. Other than that I absolutely loved the place and would go again. They were really busy so I believe that's why our food took a little longer than we would've liked but the experience was still delicious and memorable. They even let us take 2 take away boxes of focaccia bread home. ”

“ This is my second time coming to Roux and I loved my first time but this second go was even better. The Harissa Brussels Sprouts were cooked perfectly. Crisped but not charred. Insane flavor depth with more umami than I expected and the perfect spice and saltiness. The Hanger Steak was perfectly flavored and cooked. Not too spicy. Not too saucey. The sauce almost had a japanese fusion with chimichurri vibe. The tahini broccolini had a buttery and almost cheesy like crust coating that gave it the perfect bite every time. The risotto was well cooked, the sage had a lovely crisped texture and bite and the balsamic reduction gave it just the right amount of acid. It had a zesty refreshing flavor and paired great with our white wine. Also bonus points as someone who is gluten free and celiac they took the care to change their gloves when cooking and were accommodating with menu options and changes they could offer! All of these meals didn't require any alteration but they do have a gluten free pasta available for people which I appreciate ”

“ I love me a farm-to-table restaurant, especially close to home. Roux provides a modest menu of seasonal dishes, each one specially curated and selected for the best dining experience they can offer. Reservations are recommended, especially on the weekends, since it's a very small place. They've turned a darling old house into a restaurant and the intimate feeling adds to its charm. Service is welcoming and friendly, but not over the top or intrusive. The food was delicious and flavorful. I appreciate that they could make a modification for me and make a dish without cheese-often chefs take offense to that, and I apologize. But I didn't feel bad making this request here. My favorite part of the meal may have been the bread, surprisingly. I'm not certain what it was, but it was delectable. I had to restrain myself from eating more, otherwise I would spoil my appetite. ”

“ We went to Roux in downtown SLC (515 E. 300 S.) for date night earlier tonight after seeing some positive reviews. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the service was amazing. Bread is complementary, and I was stoked because I love bread. We really loved our appetizers--the braised pork belly with maple poached pear ($16) and the funeral potato pave ($9). For our main courses, I enjoyed my pasta dish--the local mushroom agnolotti ($24). It was super pricey for the small portion. My husband was not a fan of the hanger steak ($38). I tried a bite and it was overly salty and tasted burnt. Being the trooper he is, he finished it anyway and we didn't complain. All the cocktails were good, but nothing to write home about. I'm not sure if I would come back. The place felt super cramped, the lighting was bright, the music was odd, and the dining room was super loud as it filled up. The treacherous parking lot has four spaces (we snagged one, being the second table to arrive at 5 p.m.), but plenty of street parking. I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic date night. They mentioned having weekend brunch, but the menu looked pretty basic so we're not sure if we'll go yet. ”

“ Y'all I'm obsessed with this place. The food was incredible. Not pictured is the focaccia that I absolutely devoured and, of course, my go to which is the brownie. The team is so wonderful. Sarah is the reason I kept coming back. She has always been so warm and friendly. It definitely feels like a neighborhood spot. It's super cute, super clean. You don't find places like this anymore. ”
